I am delighted to have been appointed as one of the Specialist Endodontists at Edinburgh Dental Specialists. I have been a very frequent visitor to the fabulous city of Edinburgh for a long as I can remember, and now to be working here feels like a dream come true! I qualified from the Queen's University, Belfast in 1993 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and distinction in the Practice of Dentistry. I gained my MFGDP from the Royal College of Surgeons (UK) in 1998, my MSc in Endodontic Practice from the Royal London Dental Hospital in 2012 and my Membership in Endodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh in 2016.
Having been a dentist for 30 years now, I have had considerable experience in all aspects of dentistry, and have worked in both NHS and private practices. In the last 15 years my focus and passion in my working life has been endodontics, and limiting my practice largely to that. I have also worked in the hospital setting for several years, dealing with complex endodontic and restorative cases, and gained considerable and invaluable first-hand experience in the KCH dental trauma unit. For several years I taught and examined post-graduate endodontic students at both The Royal London Dental Teaching Hospital and in King’s College Hospital (KCH) London.
Believe it or not I do have a life beyond endodontics! I enjoy running (and have completed 5 marathons (albeit in a younger life!), cycling, walking, travelling, photography...and just generally getting a good dose of fresh air! I love to cook, but even more, I love to eat good food and sample great food from all around the world!
