Dr Chris Millen worked as a Consultant and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in Restorative Dentistry at the Edinburgh Dental Institute between 2015 and 2023. He is experienced in the multidisciplinary oral rehabilitation of patients using complex prosthodontic and implant techniques. He teaches future specialists in restorative dentistry and is experienced at mentoring other dentists. His interests lie in all aspects of restorative dentistry, focusing on prosthodontics (replacement of missing teeth), periodontics (gums and tissues surrounding the teeth) and implantology.
He completed his specialist training in Edinburgh, during which time he was awarded a year-long scholarship by the International Team for Implantology (ITI) to study and work in Bern, Switzerland. During this time, Dr Millen worked closely with some of the most renowned practitioners in dental implantology in the world. He has published several scientific articles in internationally peer-reviewed journals and has supervised masters level research at the Dental Institute. He is a registered speaker and Fellow of the ITI.
As well as the ITI, Dr Millen is a member of the British Society of Prosthodontics, the British Society of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry, the Royal Odontochirugical Society of Scotland and the British Society of Restorative Dentistry.
