After graduating in 2004, to enhance his surgical skills Ahmed worked as a Senior House Officer in Oral & Maxillofacial surgery. During this period, he attained the Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. This experience culminated in his decision to undertake a specialist training program at Kings College London – Guy’s Hospital.
He completed the MClinDent in Prosthodontics and has passed the specialist entry exam at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh enabling him to be become recognised as a specialist prosthodontist with the General Dental Council. His clinical work has been reviewed and assessed by world leaders in restorative dentistry at Guys Hospital. Ahmed also gained distinction in his exit exams.
Ahmed has extensive experience in the treatment of advanced tooth wear, full mouth rehabilitation, replacing missing teeth, as well as the management of patients with congenitally missing teeth. He also gained a great deal of experience in the placement and restoration of dental implants including fixed and removable prosthesis.
Ahmed has worked in several referral practices. He pays particular attention to the cosmetic, yet functional and realistic aspects of dentistry. In addition, he worked as a Senior Clinical Teaching Fellow at Leeds University Dental School. He played an active role in the training of their undergraduate and postgraduate dentists.
At Edinburgh Dental Specialists, Ahmed accepts referrals for fixed and removable prosthodontics and advanced restorative cosmetic cases.
