Payment options

At Edinburgh Dental Specialists we do not want your barrier to healthy teeth and gums to be financial.

We find that many of our patients are reassured by the fact that because treatment is delivered in stages for clinical reasons, payment is naturally spread across the weeks or months that your treatment is carried out. 

At your consultation, your specialist will outline the various treatment options which may be available to meet your requirements. Using our experience of helping people with similar problems it should be possible to provide you at this stage with an idea of the likely costs involved.

At the end of the consultation you will be given options on how to proceed. This may mean a treatment planning appointment, meeting with another specialist, or simply returning to your practitioner electing not to have any treatment at this time.

A treatment planning appointment involves the specialists gathering more detailed information from examination, x-rays, photographs and measurements. A full and very detailed plan of the specialist’s findings will be written for you, explaining your dental situation and options for treatment to address your individual requirements. This is bespoke to you and forms the blueprint for your treatment. This plan outlines timings, costs/relevant fees and is a full and comprehensive plan which is used by all the clinicians and administrative team to ensure that everyone is kept fully informed of your treatment journey at all stages. 

Following this appointment the specialist will also write to your general dentist explaining their findings.

With more complicated treatment requirements, some patients wish to discuss the appointment with their spouse or family before deciding whether to proceed or not and may also wish to attend for a further appointment to discuss the treatment plan.

We understand that the investment that our patients make in their dental treatment can be significant and we never take this for granted. We consider it a privilege that our referring practitioners and patients trust us with providing this care and we endeavour to keep patients fully informed of costs throughout treatment.

We can offer finance to help spread the cost of your treatment, with rates starting from 0% APR ;details of which are broadly outlined below:

• Greater access to treatments - by spreading the cost, you can have the treatment you want, when you want it, on a repayment plan which works best for you.
• Choice of payment terms - we offer range of credit options, with instalments spread across 1 to 5 years. Rates will vary across these terms.
• 0% finance - Rates starting from just 0% representative APR.
• Min treatment value - Finance options are available for treatment plans over a certain value.
• Qualification - Finance is subject to application and successful credit check.
