Edinburgh Dental Specialists cancellation policy
Cancellations at short notice and non-attendance without a valid reason denies other patients of essential dental care and treatment.
To decrease waiting times for appointments, we have a cancellation and failure to attend policy.
- We respectfully ask for 2 full working days’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
- Any appointment cancelled with less than 2 full working days’ notice, will incur a late cancellation charge of 50% of the full appointment fee.
- Any missed appointment will incur a failure to attend charge of 100% of the full appointment fee.
- We reserve the right to refuse to book further treatment for patients who fail to attend two consecutive appointments or have two late cancellations, until any outstanding balance has been paid.
- We understand cancellations are sometimes unavoidable due to illness or emergencies and we will of course take all individual circumstances into account.
- Any appeals about missed or cancelled appointment decisions by a patient should be made to the Practice Manager.
Appointment reminders
- At Edinburgh Dental Specialists we send appointment reminders 2 days before an appointment via a software called Patient Bridge. Please inform the practice of any changes to your contact details as soon as possible.
- Reminders are sent as a courtesy and not receiving a message (for example due to IT failure, change of contact details etc) can’t be used as a valid exception to our cancellation policy.
- We also offer a paper appointment card to all patients when the appointment is made in person, in the practice.
We thank you for your understanding and support, and we hope this will help us improve our level of patient care further.
